الجلابية

Jalabiya - The Jalabiya  (Arabic الجلابية) or Jelabiya or Jellabiya (pronounced Gellabiya in Egypt and "Jehllubeeya" in Eritrea) is a traditional Arab garment worn by both males and females. It predates Islam and is worn over other clothing. The female version is evidently synonymous with the Jilbab, Jalabiya being the informal name according to some. The female version may be elaborately adorned and includes a head covering.

The male version, a simple robe, is also variously called thawb, thobe and dishdasha (in the Levant) and Kandura in the United Arabic Emirates. The details of the garment - sleeve length, distance from the floor etc may vary.

Unlike Abaya, Jalabiya or Jalabiyat are normally more colorful and the patterns are more elaborate. In fact, the material is usually cotton which differs from Abaya where the material could be Crepe, Satin etc. Have a look and find what you like. This is from the Moon Abaya Collection.

Payment

We have limited stock. Therefore, everything is on first come first serve basis. The one who paid first shall receive the product first, prior than the latter.

Q: Is it suitable for expecting mothers to be wearing Abaya or Jalabiya?

A: Yes. All you have to do is measure your waist and chest area before referring to 

     the measurements provided to help you find the right size for you. If anything, it's

    the most flattering attire an expecting mother could wear.

Q: Why do the measurements differ from one another even though the sizes are the

    the same?

A: This is because we obtain our collections from myriads of suppliers. They differ 

    from one another. Each supplier has their own measurement. That is why we could  

    not emphasize enough on how important it is that you refer to the measurement 

   provided for each product before purchasing.
